Andrea McLeod LCSW, RPT-S
Andrea McLeod is a dedicated therapist with over 15 years of experience offering compassionate and specialized therapy services for children, adolescents, young adults, and parents. With specialized training in play and expressive therapies, Andrea provides a safe and nurturing space for individuals and families to explore their feelings and work towards meaningful positive change.

Andrea is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker, a Registered Play Therapy Supervisor, a Certified Clinical Trauma Specialist, and a Certified Child Centered Play therapist. She has extensive training in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy and specific training in Theraplay, TF-CBT, and expressive therapies including art and sand tray interventions.

Also passionate about education, Andrea is a frequent presenter to school staff and facilitator of parent education events at local schools. Andrea is a published author on the subjects of childhood mental health, childhood trauma, play therapy, and anxiety and provides professional trainings nationally on these topics. She also provides clinical supervision to other therapists,

Our in person sessions are conveniently co-located inside The Kidz Docs Pediatric and Adolescent Medicine office in Old Town Alexandria, just above Trader Joe's. A covered parking garage is available for client use at no additional charge during the session.
